Understanding the importance of greener environment, 55 countries came together to sign Kyoto Protocol on March 15, 1999, which calls for reduction in carbon emission rate. In case of defaults, the country is allowed to either buy or sell the emission from other partnering countries or in some cases is asked to take up environment cleaning activities. While many countries buy and sell the levels for money, many developed countries like the US have carried out cleaning activities in the developing countries. This has brought about cleaner environment as well as money for many of the poor countries.
