Johnny Depp

Eight years older, Johnny Depp matches Winona’s love of literature (for example, her habit of collecting all editions of her favourite novel, JD Salinger’s ‘Catcher in the Rye’), and is an avid collector of rare books, besides bringing the work of his favourite author and journalist Hunter S.Th ompson to celluloid in the film Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Admired for their unusual movie choices, both actors were initially uncertain about acting. Recently admitting that when she started acting professionally she thought it was a ‘shallow occupation’, Winona was on the same page as Depp who, instead of acting, dreamt of making music. Hailing from a broken home, the young Depp found refuge in the soothing stirrings of his guitar.
