Finance Sector Dominate


Firms across sectors and geographies seem to have performed well in terms of this ration. If an objective comparison were to be drawn on the basis of all sectors, within which the respective corporations were performing, then undoubtedly, firms within the finance sector whoppingly dominate the top 20 companies’ list in terms of the PtS ratio, and in all definitiveness due to capital appreciation model. But having said that, one should necessarily, and most imperatively, note that although the PtS ratio does bring out newer names for India to take note of, the fact is that in reality this ratio, as in the case of even other parameters, whether related to trading or to balance sheets, cannot be utilised in isolation for evaluating a corporation’s performance.
